Employee Spotlight: Matt Hawley

Service from the heart

Matt Hawley has been a member of the Stanfield team for over 10 years, serving you as a technician. Matt grew up in Athens, and his dad, a professor at Athens Technical College, suggested a career in HVAC, and in Matt’s words, “He was right.”

Matt enjoys helping customers with their heating and cooling systems because he gets to, “meet interesting people and sometimes a cool dog.” Matt and his wife, Christie, have two dogs.

What sets Matt apart is the level of service he provides to customers. Matt sees a need and meets it, and has been known to go out of his way to help a customer who is without air conditioning or heat, and once volunteered his vacation days to help install ductwork in the home of a disabled Veteran.

If you ask his co-workers about Matt, they’ll tell you story after story of how he bought firewood for an elderly customer when his heating system died during the dead of winter. And stories about him purchasing a window AC unit out of his own pocket to help a customer when their AC stopped working in the middle of July. That’s just who Matt is - a guy who provides service from the heart.

When Matt isn’t busy serving his customers, you can find him drinking coffee with his wife, playing with his dogs, or campaigning to get Dale Murphy in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
